MECHANICSBURG, PA--Voters in Cumberland County on Tuesday elected attorney and Lower Allen Township Commissioner Thomas Kutz to serve a two-year term as State Representative for the 87th Legislative District.
"I am humbled by the incredible outpouring of support from our community, and I am honored by your trust in me to serve as your voice in Harrisburg," Kutz said. "I promise to work tirelessly to continue being worthy of that trust. Thank you to my wife Allie for your love and support. Thank you to our family, friends, and volunteers for believing in me and our message. Together we will continue working to build a stronger Cumberland County for the next generation. I look forward to serving our community as your next State Representative."
Kutz, a Republican, was endorsed by PA Chamber, National Federation of Independent Business PA and spoke about the importance of putting Pennsylvania's economy back on track throughout the campaign.
As a Township Commissioner, Kutz led the Board in driving pro-economic growth and pro-public safety policies. Kutz toured small businesses and hosted a Small Business Roundtable with business and elected leaders at the height of business shutdowns. Kutz also prioritized school safety and sponsored the resolution creating a School Resource Officer to be detailed to Cedar Cliff High School. Kutz also led the Board to join the fight against a commuter toll on the I-83 South Bridge.
Kutz will take his local government experience and his policy and legal background to Harrisburg to serve the 87th District in central Cumberland County. The 87th District includes part of Lower Allen and South Middleton Townships, Upper Allen, Silver Spring, and Monroe Townships, and Mt. Holly Springs.
